In the Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Technology, you learn to understand how the world is built – right down to the smallest molecules. But you also learn how to translate your knowledge of chemistry and chemical reactions into technology that works on a large scale.

You will receive a strong basic science education with mathematics, physics and chemistry as a foundation, and you will learn to work with digital tools, simulations and engineering methods.

Chemical technology is about designing and managing the processes that make it possible to bring chemistry out of the laboratory and into reality. During your studies, you will therefore work on finding solutions to concrete problems.

This can focus on everything from energy storage to new materials, water purification or indoor climate. Chemistry also plays a central role in health. For example, you can work on developing medicines with fewer side effects or investigate how chemical methods can be used to detect or cure diseases.

You will be trained to think like an engineer: Systematic, holistic and always with an eye for sustainability and for the people who will ultimately benefit from the technology.

In the 5th and 6th semesters, you can choose electives that give you the opportunity to tailor your education with special subject areas and possibly specialize in what you are most passionate about.

Once you have completed your Bachelor's degree in Chemical Technology, you have direct access to the Master's degree program in Chemistry and Biotechnology, where you can delve further and become a civil engineer.
