In the Bachelor's degree program in Computer Technology, you learn to understand how computers and software work. You gain a strong academic foundation in natural sciences, and you use your knowledge to develop smart IT-based solutions to some of today's small and large problems. This can be anything from artificial intelligence to algorithms that control power consumption in our cities or a code that can detect illegal price manipulation in the stock market.

As an engineer, you are trained to describe reality with models, see patterns in data, and understand what happens behind the scenes when computers and software work. It is the ballast that enables you to create value in a world where new technologies become old tomorrow.

The education is not only theoretical. You also get practical experience in programming and working with software architecture. We make sure that everyone can participate and that no one loses focus on the fact that technology should always be able to function in interaction with people.

Mathematics plays a large part in the study and is integrated into many of the courses and in your project work. For example, you use it to develop algorithms that can spot digital bullying by analyzing language use on social media. Or to develop an epilepsy alarm that can detect irregular brain activity and warn when a seizure is coming. In other words, mathematics helps you understand and develop technology that creates value for other people.

As part of your education, you also learn to work with innovation, and you gradually become more skilled at dealing with the dilemmas that come with translating theory into changes in the real world.

The Bachelor's degree in Computer Technology constitutes the first 3 years of the 5-year Master of Science in  Computer Technology, and you can largely tailor your education according to your interests.
