In the Bachelor's degree program in History of Ideas, you will critically approach accepted truths, you will delve into new theories and argue for them. You will examine important thoughts and ideas from antiquity to the present day, and you will deal with the history of philosophy and with societal, religious, scientific, technological, global, political, economic and artistic ideas.  

Everyday life at Idea History
Teaching on the Bachelor's degree programme in History of Ideas is primarily through lectures. You also have teaching in smaller groups, where you give presentations, actively participate in discussions and work with your study group. There are not many teaching hours in History of Ideas, and you organize large parts of your study time yourself when you have to prepare for the teaching and work with your study group.

In the History of Ideas, you will examine why one idea seems better than another at a given time. You will study the main lines and major works of the history of philosophy, and you will examine what has been thought about society and social relations over time. You will also come across topics as diverse as soul and body, education and punishment, and leadership and organization.

You must have passed the following specific admission requirements:
  • Danish A
  • English B
  • History B or History of Ideas B or Contemporary History B
  • An additional language (beginner language A or advanced language B)

If you are missing one or more subject levels, you have the opportunity to supplement.

If you do not meet the grade requirement in quota 1, you must apply for admission to quota 2 no later than March 15 at 12 noon. Otherwise, you will not be able to be admitted.
