The Higher
School of Saharan Agriculture of Adrar was created on
December 26, 2021 by the Presidential Decree No. 21-520.
The
geographical location of the School offers a strategic position to train the
intellectual elite of the south Algeria region. The School, through educational
teaching and scientific research activities, will make possible to address the
challenges and problems related to the agricultural production, particularly in
the Sahara. Gainful and sustainable Saharan agriculture, one of the main
objectives of the School, through the development of innovation techniques
directed towards strategic products, the studies will also allow for the
integration and use of renewable energies in various agricultural activities.
The School is concerned with studying the responses and adaptations of living
beings to the climatic conditions changes, in order to preserve the Saharan
biodiversity and the environment on the one hand and to properly manage Saharan
natural resources on the other.
In the field of agri-food, the absorption of
overproduction: plants, animals and agricultural by-products require qualified
scientific and technical support to ensure better quality, appropriate storage,
planned marketing and an agro-industry adequate food.
