This course explores music from mainstream to underground, while embracing popular music in its many forms: rock, pop, folk, urban, jazz, experimental and commercial. The department has even helped to set up their own independent record label, NX Records, to promote students' work. The study of creative practice is the central of this degree, enabling students to expand their skills, whether it's playing in bands or writing/performing music for film, theatre or multimedia. Students will have the opportunity to perform at student-run showcases, in department ensembles, and at PureGold, Goldsmiths’ annual music festival that celebrates music created and performed at Goldsmiths.
