The BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing degree has two intakes each year and applicants who accept an offer of a place will be allocated a place in either the September or February/March intake. This degree is ideal for those who have had some form of caring experience, either voluntary or paid, prior to application. This degree includes a completion of supervised clinical practice within both traditional and community hospital settings as well as outside hospital environments. Students will also develop essential clinical skills on campus using facilities in LJMU’s clinical practice suites. ​Adult nurses care for adults of all ages in both acute and long term care. Students will gain the skills, experience and confidence to be an effective healthcare professional, with particular aptitude in key areas such as caring, counselling, managing, teaching and interpersonal skills, which are essential to improving patient care and quality of life.

Applicants must hold grade 4 or grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics GCSE or an approved qualification. We will consider applicants who are in the process of completing their GCSE English Language and Mathematics or Level 2 equivalents. Acceptable equivalents would be: • Key Skills Level 2 in English/ Maths • NVQ Level 2 Functional skills in Maths and English Writing and or Reading • Skills for Life Level 2 in Numeracy/English • Higher Diploma in Maths/ English • Functional skills level 2 in Maths/ English • Northern Ireland Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication or Application of Number • Wales Essential Skills Level 2 in Communication or Application of Number
