Our department aims to provide existing and incoming candidates with a better learning experience by offering more modules and specialization options. For candidates who are interested in gaining more hands-on laboratory experience, there will also be a project module whereby candidates are given opportunities to do research in our academic staff’s research labs. There are also plans to improve the teaching facilities in our department with labs dedicated to the Master of Science candidates who are enrolled in the project module. Starting from AY 2021/22, we have launched a new specialization in Materials Innoprenuership and more specialization paths are also work-in-progress and expected to be rolled out in the next few years. Prospective student should have a Bachelor’s degree with honours or its equivalent from a good University, in an area related to the intended programme of study; or a Bachelor’s degree with a relevant NUS Graduate Certificate with a minimum CAP as imposed by the Host Department of the intended programme of study. Candidates with other qualifications and achievements deemed to be suitably prepared for the programme of study may also be considered. Candidates are also expected to be proficient in English as the medium of instruction in NUS is English. GRE scores are not required. Selection of candidates for admission is on a competitive basis.
