The English
language department is committed to meet quality standards in preparing,
qualifying and graduating an English language teacher who is able to perform
his educational and applied profession with efficiency, excellent class
adhering to moral values, ideals and educational principles which seek to
serve, and develop the community locally and regionally.
Objectives
1. The
department works on preparing qualified and distinguished English language
teachers for all levels of basic and intermediate education to advance the
burden of education and pedagogical mission using modern technologies.
2. Preparing
high scientific competencies in the linguistic, applied and educational fields.
3. Providing
the necessary training programs to provide the learners with the skills of
listening, speaking, reading, and writing through curricula that are updated
periodically with an emphasis on the use of various technologies.
4. The study
of the English Language is an integrated study that includes phonetics, word
derivation, linguistic structures, semantics, translation and literature. It
also includes the theories of language acquisition, research, and English as a
foreign language.

Developing the students’ spirit of creativity, critical thinking and group and
self-evaluation, as well as training the students to prepare research and
reports related to teaching the English language.
