The training allows students to acquire a good general scientific culture, mainly in the various disciplinary fields of Physics (mechanics, optics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum and statistical physics, etc.), Chemistry in certain courses, but also in mathematics and computer programming.  Various modules offered throughout the training allow students to discover more specific areas and help them to specify their orientation towards different mentions of masters at the University of Paris-Saclay. Students gradually acquire skills to analyze physical systems (relevant variables, order of magnitude, etc.), to carry out a simple experimental project independently and develop critical thinking (measurements, uncertainties, etc.), to model a physical problem and to solve it by mathematical or numerical means, and to communicate results in writing or orally, in French and in English.
