By offering the Doctor of Philosophy in Law program, the College of Law seeks to achieve a three-pronged system: the knowledge axis, the skill axis, and the innovation axis, in order to ensure that the graduates of this program meet the needs of the local, regional and international community, and keep pace with scientific and technological developments, making them always able to innovate. Objectives of the PhD program in light of the Emirati Qualifications System

  1. Deepening the student's knowledge of legal specializations and the extent to which they relate to community issues.
  2. Providing the community with qualified graduates who are able to assume their responsibilities in teaching, planning, and developing their institutions.
  3. Enable the student to conduct specialized comparative legal research and studies in a way that enriches legal knowledge.
  4. Instilling the spirit of creativity and continuous cognitive development in the student in the field of law.
  5. Enabling students to achieve high professional goals and occupy leadership roles in the UAE society.
  6. Qualifying students to address legal problems and issues.
  7. Enable students to develop critical thinking skills.
  8. Contribute to the development of the Emirati society and other societies of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
  9. Creating educationally qualified national cadres of the highest degree in all legal disciplines needed by the labor market, which contributes to the continuation of the community development process.
  10. Encouraging scientific competencies for creativity and innovation, developing scientific research and directing it to address issues of the Emirati society and other societies of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries

 To be accepted into the program, the student must fulfill the following conditions: -

1. Obtaining a master's degree in public law or private law or its equivalent, from a university recognized by the Ministry of Education - Higher Education Affairs in the United Arab Emirates, with a grade of no less than very good (3 points out of 4) or its equivalent.
2. In special cases and by a decision of the College Council, a student may be granted conditional admission to the doctoral program if his master’s degree is less than “very good” (3 points out of 4), and his acceptance does not become final until the student succeeds in the first three courses after joining the program, with a grade of no less than 80% (b).
3. Obtaining a TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 500 or 5.0 points according to the IELTS certificate, provided that no more than two years have passed since the date of obtaining it on the date of applying for Program C,
4. Passing the Arabic language emsat test with a score of (1250).
5. Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from two professors who have taught him at the master's level
