This two-year master qualification provides students with specialised knowledge and professional engineering skills to prepare them for a career in the rapidly-growing energy industry. The program builds on the Australian National University’s interdisciplinary engineering focus and research expertise to give students the skills to address complex industry and R&D challenges while at the same time providing specialist engineering knowledge in energy systems.

The program comprises a compulsory core that provides advanced knowledge in engineering professional development and energy resources (renewable and non-renewable) and their integration into modern energy systems. In addition, students must complete at least two courses on technologies that generate energy from solar and wind resources. Further engineering course options provide students with greater depth in the use or understanding of energy technology and systems. Students also have the opportunity to select electives from across the University, including courses in the complementary areas of energy policy, law and economics.
