Run jointly by CEU’s Department of Medieval Studies and Department of History, the Medieval track of this program zooms in on the political, social, intellectual, religious and economic history as well as the material and spiritual culture of the period between 300 and 1600 CE. This training is best suited to students with a three-year bachelor’s degree in history or any other field in the humanities. It aims at understanding persistent themes in the experience of these regions in a longue durée perspective while allowing students to increasingly immerse themselves in their chosen key area of research and its specific methodologies. Completing the two-year MA program results in a degree in Historical Studies with a Specialization in Medieval Studies.
