Students graduate from the Construction Management program with careers as master coordinators, organizers, communicators, and leaders. Construction managers oversee all components of construction projects and ensure that the people, materials, and equipment are in the right place at the right time. They create schedules, monitor finances, eliminate safety hazards, and ensure access to resources required to complete a project. As a student, you will study traditional engineering subjects like math, building materials, and structures as well as business topics and specialized courses on contracts and specifications, site planning and design, cost estimating, building systems, safety, and sustainability. Construction managers are experts in the latest advances in building materials and construction methods, replacing aging infrastructure, and the growing number of multipurpose buildings, smart buildings, and energy-efficient structures that are driving the demand for construction managers. As the only degree in the Philadelphia region accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE), you will learn from faculty with industry experience and draw from deep Drexel industry connections and alumni network working at the top constructors in the nation. Drexel Engineering combines immersive, design-oriented coursework and invaluable experiential learning through co-op, a capstone senior design experience and opportunities to be immersed in active construction settings that will have you ready to start a career making an immediate impact.
