The International Medical Program at Nam Can Tho University is designed with an application-oriented approach, centered on learner development, and aligned with contemporary trends in international integration within modern medical education. 

The primary objective of the program is to train general practitioners who possess a solid foundation in both basic and clinical medical sciences, proficient professional skills, exemplary medical ethics, professional demeanor, and appropriate physical and mental well-being. This is to effectively meet the evolving demands of healthcare services, including disease prevention, health promotion, and patient care, in the context of continuous innovation in the healthcare sector. 

The program has been accredited and officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. Furthermore, it adheres to the standards set by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME), ensuring that graduates are eligible to pursue residency training programs not only in Vietnam but also in the United States and other countries with compatible medical education systems. A distinguishing feature of the program is its emphasis on comprehensive learner development, which includes: 

  • A thorough understanding of modern medical knowledge, from foundational to clinical sciences
  • Competence in clinical practice aligned with international standards

Admission Requirements

To ensure high-quality education, applicants must meet certain academic and language requirements. These help us identify students who are prepared to succeed in an English-medium academic setting.

  • English proficiency: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent (Applicants from countries where English is the official language may be exempt)
  • Academic interview with DNC’s professional council (Optional)
  • For students graduating from international schools or high schools abroad: Grade 12
  • For Vietnamese students: Must meet MOET's admission standards for DNC
