The Faculty of Nursing and Physiotherapy teaches in the Campus Universitari Igualada-UdL the Bachelor's degree in Nursing as a result of the adaptation of university education to the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This makes it possible to compare universities studies across Europe. The unit of measurement that makes the studies comparable is the European ECTS credit system, which will also involve the incorporation of new teaching methodologies, with a teaching philosophy that focuses on the students, their abilities and their autonomy for learning, and which aims, above all, to make available the knowledge and strategies that must ensure the lifelong learning.  This bachelor's degree emphasizes nurses’ training in general with scientific and human training and with the necessary skills to identify, assess and act on the health and care needs of healthy or sick people and to meet the challenges of today's society.  The clinical experience of the Bachelor's degree in Nursing is guaranteed by the performance of the simulated practices in skills laboratories, where students acquire the skills necessary to work in the different areas of care. The practicum begins in the first year in hospitals, social and health centers and basic health areas with which the UdL has signed collaboration agreements. Through the realization of the practicum, the degree incorporates professional values and pays attention to the most relevant problems in the different areas, which will allow to integrate in the professional practice the knowledge, skills and attitudes of nursing.
