The Bachelor of Science major in Physical Geography includes fieldwork, practical experience and research. Your learning experience will take advantage of Wollongong’s superb setting amidst a variety of landscapes, soils and rivers, as well as freshwater and terrestrial ecosystems unique to the Illawarra. You will learn a range of skills and techniques, including landform interpretation, geochemistry and geochronology in addition to the application of the latest technologies in spatial sciences, such as global positioning, geographic information systems (GIS) and remote sensing (drones and earth observation satellites). This degree will present wide-ranging career pathways which may include coastal or estuarine management officer, environmental consultant, spatial data officer, hydrologist, soil scientist and geoscientist.
