This program put in place from 2018 onwards, replacing the Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) and it has allowed graduates to complete this study over 1.5 years and applying for teacher registration six months earlier. This program is designed to reflect teaching in secondary school settings to provide graduates from non-education background with the skills and knowledge to obtain eligibility to register with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT). Theory and practice of teaching, characteristic of learners and teachers, and the social contexts of education will be taught in this program. Students may choose two of the following Teaching Areas: Biology (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt)# Business (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt)# Chemistry (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt)# Design Technologies (Gold Coast only) Digital Technologies (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt) Drama (Mt Gravatt only) Earth and Environmental Science (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt)# English (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt) Geography (Mt Gravatt only) Health and Physical Education (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt) History (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt) Instrumental Music (Mt Gravatt only)# Languages other than English (LOTE) (Mt Gravatt only)# Mathematics (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt) Music (Mt Gravatt only) Physics (Gold Coast and Mt Gravatt) Visual Arts (Mt Gravatt only)   Students who have completed at least six subjects in psychology in their Bachelor degree may nominate one of the above teaching areas to a senior level and complete the Learning Enhancement specialist area.
