This programme was started as a part-time coursework based programme in response to directions from EDB to train science, pharmacy and engineering personnel to be proficient and knowledge-ready to meet the needs of the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry (e.g. in the areas of formulation, process and product development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs) in Singapore. To make our students relevant in the future pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry, a broad-based approach is adopted in our curriculum, to encompass the various stages of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical development. The Department sees the importance to keep abreast with the evolving needs of the pharmaceutical industry and has taken the effort to restructure the curriculum, and update the contents with new modules introduced for students to read, in order to ensure the continued relevance for the graduates. The Department will be launching a MPST full-time programme w.e.f. AY2022/2023 Semester 1.
