The Master of Professional French Studies Summer Institute program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is specifically designed for French teachers’ unique academic calendar and working needs. Our program includes a shortened summer internship and will include portfolio projects focused on your current classroom projects. Modeled off of the Professional French Studies Master’s program, the Summer Institute program is designed to globalize your expertise and apply your advanced proficiency in French language to business and professional settings around the world. Courses will be offered face-to-face during the summer, and online during the academic year. Apply your French skills to research, interdisciplinary cross-cultural analysis, advanced oral communications, and advanced grammar. Our courses also teach you to understand various perspectives and best practices within major French-speaking regions around the world. Upon completing the Summer Institute program you will be prepared to apply best practices to professional projects in French-speaking organizational settings outside the United States.

Admission Requirements

92+
All applicants must: Have an undergraduate degree AND Have advanced knowledge of French. Submit GRE test scores. To apply, materials include: Online graduate school application, Supplemental French Department application, Official transcripts, CV/Resume, Statement of purpose (in French), Three letters of recommendation, and Oral interview in French, by phone or in person.
