The program aims to equip students with a science or engineering educational backgrounds with business skills relevant for pursuing managerial careers in internationally orientated manufacturing and service industries. 

This programme is taught full-time over 16 months by leading universities, offering a unique global experience. You will have the opportunity to study in Scotland, Spain, the UAE, Mexico, and Italy.  

Throughout the master’s program, you will develop a profound understanding of contemporary issues in Industrial Management. You will be encouraged to critically examine, evaluate, and reflect on the current and future challenges in global industries and service companies. In addition, you'll develop managerial skills for effective communication and teamwork at all organisational levels.  

Beyond the academic curriculum, you’ll will develop key transferrable skills which will set you up for life after graduation. In addition, the international nature of the programme means you’ll communicate and work with individuals from all over the world, helping you navigate and appreciate diversity and multiculturalism. 

Successful candidates will receive both an MSc in Industrial Management (International) from Heriot-Watt University and an International Master in Industrial Management from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Admission Requirements

  • Curriculum vitae (Europass CV Format)
  • Bachelor degree or recognised equivalent from an accredited institution (minimum 3 years full-time study) in a scientific or technical discipline, including management engineering courses


High proficiency in the English language as evidenced by one of the below (current)
