Master of Occupational Therapy Practice is an accelerated course allowing students of first degree other than occupational therapy, but in a related field, to obtain an entry level qualification at a postgraduate level of study to practice as an occupational therapist. A 1000-hour of fieldwork education is incorporated in this degree to commensurate with World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) Minimum Standards for the Education of Occupational Therapists (2002), and provides an integrated curriculum centred on scenario-based learning. Occupational therapists work with people of all ages to address issues related to participation in everyday life caused by illness, psychological or emotional difficulties, developmental delay, the effects of aging, and life transitions such as retirement.
