Actuaries model risk to understand and control it. Their role is central to banking and insurance institutions. Also known as risk engineers, they apply mathematics and statistics to insurance and finance issues. The Master's degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences (SAF) at the Faculty of Sciences of the USJ is the first program of its kind in Lebanon. Since 2005, it has been training versatile actuaries who are highly sought after locally and globally, as graduates of this program hold key positions around the world and constitute a large network of partners that facilitates access to employment for current students.

Admission Requirements

The master's degree is open to holders of:

a degree in mathematics from the Faculty of Sciences of USJ;
a bachelor's degree or a first year of a master's degree in mathematics or in a scientific discipline outside USJ, deemed equivalent by the USJ equivalence committee;
an engineering diploma deemed equivalent by the USJ equivalence committee.
