Build a strong foundation in the biological, physical, and social fundamentals required for sustainable forest management in any ecosystem or political jurisdiction. This interdisciplinary degree integrates science and technology in a combination of classroom and field work. Forests grow in a wide range of environments and are managed in a variety of ways around the world. As a Forestry student, you’ll learn everything about handling this renewable resource – from planning for different uses, to overseeing the operational aspects of extracting timber. Choose from two majors – Forest Resources Management or Forest Operations – both of which are accredited by the Canadian Forestry Accreditation Board and satisfy the academic requirements for becoming a Registered Professional Forester in the eight Canadian provinces that have professional forestry organizations.
