For students looking to develop not just a strong proficiency in the Italian language but also in the language of business, this combined degree offers just that. A year abroad in Italy is included as part of the degree; students can choose to spend the year either at an Italian University or on a work placement. Why study this course? Through this course you will master the fundamental elements of the Italian language and can expect to become confident and highly skilled in written and spoken Italian. Our small language classes, led by native speakers, and direct access to expert staff for help and feedback ensures you develop your language skills to the best of your ability. You will also gain a broad understanding of the most important features of the culture and history of Italy, from the Middle Ages to today. The management component of the course is provided by Henley Business School, which is part of an elite group of business schools - the top 1% in the world – to be triple-accredited for the quality and capability of our faculty and output. After the course By the time you graduate, you can expect to be able to write and speak fluently in Italian - an immensely useful skill to have given that there is currently a great shortage of well-qualified linguists in the UK. The experience of studying or working abroad also distinguishes you from non-language graduates, providing evidence of self-reliance, adaptability and enterprise. The skills and knowledge you acquire through the management component of the course will prepare you for professional roles in banking and finance, consultancy, management and accountancy. Our graduates have an excellent record of gaining employment or progressing to further study, and have founnd careers in many different sectors, including education, publishing, translation, EU institutions, finance, fashion, entertainment, the film business and tourism, both in the UK and abroad. Employers of our graduates have included companies and organisations such as the Ministry of Defence, Energis Communication, BNP Paribas, the Taylorian Institution Library and Riso Scotti SRL, Christie’s, Prada, Dolce and Gabbana, PGL Travel Ltd.
