LMU Music provides a balanced program for our majors and minors that includes musicianship, historical perspective, and musical performance, within the context of a liberal arts education. With a close-knit department, our students receive individual attention from professors through small classes and private lessons in voice, piano, guitar, strings, percussion, winds, brass, composition, and conducting. The curriculum is rigorous and combines learning about the structure and story of music with myriad public performance opportunities in all specialties. Our students excel as performers in ensembles and as soloists, develop music production and leadership abilities, and attain high academic standards in formal writing, analytic skills, as well as oral communication.
