The graduate of the Doctorate in Political Science will have an updated training in the area, essentially oriented to the study and analysis of politics at the national, international and comparative levels. They will have the ability to formulate plans and proposals, design strategies and make decisions in the field of public policy, promotion of development, improvement of institutions and conflict resolution. The graduate will be prepared to deepen the study, research and teaching in Political Science and in the social sciences in general. An essential strength consists of methodological training, the use of quantitative and qualitative techniques, and the development of critical thinking. The graduate will be prepared to perform both in the academic and business fields, consulting in social and political communication, the State and civil society organizations.

Admission Requirements

Admission conditions:

  • Candidates for admission are graduates of higher degree courses in the specialty area or related disciplines. Those who accredit a degree course belonging to another discipline and lack familiarity with the subject matter of these studies may be recommended to take remedial courses.
Application and entry dates:

  • Applications for the faculty's master's or doctoral programs can be submitted at any time of the year. If the application is positively evaluated, the applicant can begin their courses in the following quarter. The terms begin, respectively, at the beginning of April, at the beginning of July, and at the end of September (see academic calendar of the faculty).
One-on-one interview:

  • After submitting the required documentation, the applicant must undergo an individual interview with the career director and the Academic Selection Committee chaired by the dean.

  • four photographs
  • Photocopy of the legalized qualifying title

Additional documentation for foreign students:

  • Copy of the bachelor's degree with the Hague apostille, certified official translation and presentation of the original degree.
