Why study Gastronomy?

The history of gastronomy has established itself as a respectable academic field that teaches us that change is inevitable. The radical transformations that are taking place in our diet are thus a consequence of the acceleration of history and the globalization of the food market. Gastronomy must be understood as an interdisciplinary activity. Relate food and culture. In this way, it links various sciences around the human food system. Gastronomy is the knowledge of everything that relates to man as far as his diet is concerned. The material objective of gastronomy is everything that feeds the human being, and to achieve this it relies on agriculture, livestock, commerce, the food industry and the development of creativity among many others. After all, Gastronomy transports from one country to another everything that deserves to be known and that makes a wisely ordered banquet like a compendium of the world in which each part is represented by its components. Food is essential for life, and for many of us, it is also an undisputed source of pleasure. A meal can be the perfect excuse to meet friends, to seal a business or simply to enjoy a pleasant evening. For all the above, there is a social demand for professionals in Gastronomy. I invite you to discover our gastronomy career, to become infected with the passion of its teachers and to be amazed by an environment of study and practice, with an international projection.
