The designation “ Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences (hereinafter DCB)” derives from the purpose of training comprehensive researchers who receive rigorous training that provides the necessary skills to be leaders in biomedical research. Structured around the diversity of groups of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences of the Universidad del Rosario, the DCB guides a holistic vision of the field of health sciences, based on basic and applied research where it seeks to contribute to the generation of new knowledge in the treatment, diagnosis, prevention and knowledge of diseases.
The purpose of the DCB is to train researchers capable of proposing, formulating and developing solid translational proposals based on theoretical foundations and observations in the field. Likewise, the DCB promotes better communication between the academic-scientific community and society; and by strengthening autonomy in the learning process, through learning to learn, and teamwork.
