The Medicine program  at the Universidad del Rosario is the oldest in the history of the country, as it was part of the founding of the University in 1653 and graduated the nation's first doctor in 1803. In its contemporary stage it has operated uninterruptedly since 1965, training excellent doctors.
We offer you an  innovative, student-centered medicine program , in which you will learn to learn, be autonomous and self-regulated, while strengthening transformative learning such as teamwork, effective communication with colleagues, patients and the community., education based on values ​​and principles, respect for diversity and the management of uncertainty.
Our students learn by doing and researching. We want our graduates to be comprehensive professionals, capable of understanding health and illness as a social, cultural and historical process, within which the biological and psychological are inserted, to solve problems that affect the quality of life of people and of the communities.
We are an integrated and integrative program of scientific, professional, practical competencies, of the new trivium (reading-writing and critical thinking), and of the  Rosarista training core  (civility), with the  biomedical, clinical, socio-humanistic and life sciences. health of populations, through Generic and Specific Learning Results, and the permanent evaluation of their achievement. Our program is flexible, with different degree options in addition to medical. These options include:  family medicine ,  medical-surgical specializations ,  master's degrees in science  and doctorates, dual programs, and other studies.
It is a hybrid curriculum in which learning moments are developed through, mainly,  Integrative Learning Systems Activities  (AIAS), based on the resolution of problems/cases; to early hospital and community exposure, to research and science, with a high socio-humanistic component.
Our curriculum addresses the needs of society, that is, it is relevant and, consequently, has a high foundation and development in the prevention of disease and the promotion of health, through primary care.
