The Bachelor of Social Sciences in Sociology program endeavors to provide students with an understanding of the interplay between social structure and the development of individuals. Sociologists study social life, social change, diverse communities and their interactions, and they use social statistics, ethnography and demographic methods to find empirical answers to complex social questions. Studying sociology can help foster your creativity, innovation, critical and analytical thinking, and communication and collaboration skills, all of which are essential skills and in high demand in today’s complex and fast changing job markets. Numerous internship/research opportunities are available for undergraduate students in Department of Sociology, University of Macau. Our undergraduate students have opportunities to conduct original research under supervision of a faculty member and to publish research papers in international journals. Many of our undergraduate students were admitted to graduate programs in top-ranked universities, including the University of Oxford, the University of Chicago, the University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, the University of Rotterdam, SOAS, and the London School of Economics and Political Science, to name a few.
