  • Commercial law is an essential part of legal practice, ensuring regulation of small business, large industries, consumer protection, and promoting economic stability. Staying current in the field of commercial law best practice is important, to ensure you’re equipped with the knowledge needed to navigate the field as it is today.  
  • Within UniSQ’s Master of Laws, you will complete two core courses focused on research skills, four elective courses focusing on various areas of commercial law and a choice of one free-standing elective across the degree. 
  • The Commercial Law specialisation explores international business law, taxation law, property conveyancing, competition and consumer law, commercial litigation, and mediation.  
  • You can select to study a course that includes the necessary training to assist you to become a Nationally Accredited Mediator under the National Mediator Accreditation Standards (NMAS) and enable progression to register with an Australian Recognised Mediator Body. 
  • Complete the Master of Laws (Commercial Law) in one year when studying full-time or two years part-time and study completely online to upskill while balancing work or family commitments. Options to fast-track your study are available.

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Laws (Honours); a Juris Doctor; a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, or an international equivalent.
  • Applicants who do not hold a law degree but have an equivalent qualification approved by a legal profession admissions board are also eligible to apply for entry.
  • If you have completed the UniSQ Juris Doctor you will receive 50% specific credit towards particular components of the Master of Laws. If you have completed a Juris Doctor degree from another institute, you are able to apply for credit as per the Credit and Exemption policy.
