The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Biomedical)/Bachelor of Science (Medical Science) is a combined undergraduate coursework degree that will develop your engineering expertise alongside the critical insights and research skills offered by the sciences. This course is accredited by Engineers Australia and other major professional engineering institutions. You will complete degree foundational core units in mathematics and computing, along with a suite of multidisciplinary project units. You will also complete stream core and specialist elective units in biomedical engineering, and can choose to complete an optional specialisation. In your final year, you will complete an honours thesis in your chosen stream. Throughout your degree, you will undertake professional engagement activities as part of the Professional Engagement Program, including engineering work experience in the final year. Concurrently with the Bachelor of Engineering, you will complete Science degree core units, along with the Medical Science stream comprising core and project units within an embedded program and major. You will also complete units from the Open Learning Environment and any elective units as needed to make up the requirements of the course.
