If you are interested in different forms of creative writing and have an interest in the world of publishing, this course will provide the skills and knowledge to develop, enrich (or diversify) your writing skills and understand the Australian publishing industry within a global context.

The course is designed and delivered by accomplished authors, scholars and industry experts who will introduce you to creative writing across a wide range of forms, such as fiction, nonfiction, poetry, writing for performance and digital storytelling.

In practice-based sessions, you will create original creative works and learn how to draft, workshop and edit your work, as well as critique and edit the work of your peers. In this way the course provides you with a brilliant opportunity to be a part of a writer’s studio and develop your craft.

You will also engage in research and critical thinking and will learn how to apply key concepts to your creative practice. All the work you produce will contribute to your portfolio and the skills you acquire will be transferable to a wide range of industries and careers.

To hone their skills, students engage in interactive classes led by skilled practitioners. Subjects often rely on workshopping, with students learning key concepts, applying these to their own writing, and collaborating with other students to provide and receive feedback. In this way the course provides students with a brilliant opportunity to be a part of a unique writer’s studio and develop their craft, finishing with a folio of works covering key forms and genres.
