The Department of Electrical Engineering at JUST offers the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Electrical Engineering in the following two specializations:

  • Communications Engineering
  • Power Engineering

​​The B. Sc. degree is awarded after successful completion of 160 credit hours in addition to practical training of not less than 8 weeks. The under​graduate curriculum provides a broad foundation in both standard and modern topics in electrical engineering.​​​

The first year of study is mainly devoted to basic sciences; the following three years include basic engineering sciences and broad electrical engineering fundamentals, while the fifth year permits a reasonable amount of specialization through specialization packages and elective courses.

​The Department has also initiated an M.Sc. program in 1980 in response to ​​the market needs, and, as a result to the success of the B. Sc. program. ​The Department offers M.Sc. degree after completion of (34) credit hours and the successful preparation of the​ thesis. Two main areas of research are available: Wireless Communications and Power and Control.
