The vision of the School of Educational Sciences is to build educational leaders capable of effectively playing their roles according to international standards. The mission of this school is to prepare human resources in the field of educational sciences capable of competing in the local, regional and international  market, and providing specialized research, training and advisory services to help in meeting challenges and cope with global changes.

Objectives
​1.    To develop research environment.
2.    To achieve efficiency and effectiveness of two types, internal and external, through:
-      Upbringing educational leaderships and competencies to provide educational and administrative services. -      Providing faculties with their needs of experts. -      The development of self learning and orientation, and promote active learning. -      The development of students and staff professionally, cognitively, technologically, mentally and emotionally, to meet the needs of the different institutions in the society. -      Training of students and staff and equipping them with scientific research skills. -      The application of institutional work and objectivity. -      glancing to the future; to meet professional requirements. -      Development of efficient educational academic programs that serve students and the community, locally and regionally, and open the fronts of the labour market. -      Strengthening ties with the local community, particularly institutions responsible for providing practical training opportunities for students. -      Preparation of librarians and information specialists

The Course Plan for the Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science Consists of (132) Credit hours as follow: 1-Basic Univ. requirement: 27 C.H A- Basic Requirements : (21) Credit Hours. B- Elective Requirements (6) Credit Hours. 2-Basic College requirement: 27 C.H A- Basic Requirement : (21) Credit Hours. B- Elective Requirement : (6) Credit Hours. 3- Major Field: 78 C.H

Admission Requirements


Required Documents Applicants must submit the following documents:   1.    Original General Secondary Certificate (Tawjihi) certified by The Ministry of Education (for Jordanian certificates) or an equivalent issued by The Ministry of Education (for non-Jordanian certificates). 2.    Original Comprehensive Exam Certificate and original transcript properly certified by The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (for community college Diploma holders). 3.     An authenticated copy of both the civil identification card and Birth Certificate (for Jordanians). 4.     A copy of the passport (for non-Jordanians). 5.     Three photos. 6.     Original “Good Reputation and Conduct” document and an original certified   transcript   for those  who have been previously enrolled at institutions other than UJ.     NOTE: All accepted students are going to undertake an Arabic proficiency test, English proficiency test and computer skills proficiency test during their first semester.     (Testing dates will be announced at the website later on during the semester).
