BA Film Studies and East Asian Studies aims to develop students’ understanding and awareness of the rich possibilities of this creative medium and encourages them to approach the study of film from a range of historical and theoretical perspectives. Students will also gain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the East Asian region, with a focus on China and Japan, through studying cultures, histories, societies, economics and politics. Students will have the option of learning some Chinese, Japanese or Korean language as part of their studies, although East Asian Studies is not a language-intensive degree programme.
