This transdisciplinary programme is designed for tech savvy individuals who wish to pursue a career in applying technologies in the arts and culture sector and creative industries. The arts and culture sector and creative industries have been expanding rapidly in Hong Kong and the Mainland. The integration of various technologies into art creation have led to many possibilities unimagined before. Specialists are needed to push for the future forms of arts and culture and creative industries. HKBU is recognised for its strengths in film, acting, music, visual arts, culture and humanities, as well as strong connections with the arts and culture sector and creative industries. Creative Media and Practice is indeed one of the three interdisciplinary research clusters in HKBU’s 10-year Strategic Plan. Graduates of this programme are capable of creating and delivering contents in the arts and culture sector and creative industries, achieving technology-augmented creativity and viewer experience, and using technologies such as extended realities in film, theatre, game development and designing museum experience and heritage conservation. They may also choose to apply technologies to digitisation and authentication of arts.
