The content of this course is endorsed by and has been developed with Channel 4. The programme will provide students with the tools needed to produce commercially viable television investigations targeted at national and international audiences. Students are expected to devise, pitch and manage investigations, in consultation with some the UK’s leading providers. Students will be expected to devise, pitch and manage their own investigations. Students will be expected to pitch their ideas face-to-face to some of the most senior people in independent television investigative journalism, including Dorothy Byrne, Head of Channel Four News and Current Affairs and DMU’s Visiting Professor in Media Discourse (Journalism).

  • Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and awareness of current affairs, and also a minimum of one week’s work experience in a professional newsroom.
