Graphic Design at De Montfort University allows you to explore graphic communication, with an emphasis on creativity, visualisation, graphic literacy and problem solving. You will develop into a creative designer, building up a portfolio of knowledge and skills in visual communication within printmaking, photography, typography, information design, illustration, animation, graphic systems, book-­making, publishing, interactive design, broadcast graphics, packaging, art directing, editorial design, advertising and branding. You will have the opportunity to undertake live design briefs from industry and participate in national and international competitions such as the International Society of Typographic Designers and the Starpack Awards. The experience you gain on the course will support you to develop into a successful graphic designer in a rapidly changing commercial environment. 96 per cent of graduates from this course are in full-time employment or further education within six months of completing their course (DLHE 2015/16).
