The World Languages Education ? Spanish B.S. program offers students the option of two tracks: World Languages Education ? Spanish Track. The Education Track is appropriate for students interested in opportunities for employment with formal, K-12 schools that require certification. The University of Central Florida offers a Bachelor of Science degree for students interested in teaching Spanish grades K-12. Consistent with the College of Education and Human Performance mission to create facilitating, reflective practitioners, the program is designed to prepare thoughtful, purposeful educators who use their skills and knowledge effectively and who demonstrate dispositions of becoming a proficient educator. The program design supports the College of Education and Human Performance orientation toward the highest standards of professional development, Best Practices model of inquiry and research-drive instructional strategies, close collaboration with schools, active participation in professional organizations, and the highest ethical standards. The foreign language education program is dedicated to providing the highest level of skill in teaching toward communicative competence consistent with the national emphasis on proficiency-oriented curricula, materials, and methodology.
