The aim of the Doctoral Program in Theology is to produce qualified experts who combine a mastery of a broad field of theology with an adequate scientific methodology, in order to contribute with original research to the advancement of theological knowledge.

This research training is both transversal and specific to the chosen theological area. To obtain the Doctorate in Theology, specific training activities must be carried out, reviewed by the tutor and thesis supervisor, and evaluated each year by the program's academic committee; and a research plan must be drawn up and presented before the end of the first year (for full-time students) or at the end of the second year (for part-time students).

The aim of the activities is to create a space for intellectual encounters where young researchers can develop their theological training.

Through the development of activities, the aim is to generate a space for intellectual encounters where young researchers can develop their theological training - courses, conferences, seminars, attendance at congresses, publication of articles and mobility stays - in a context of excellent research, creativity, interdisciplinary perspective and teamwork.
