The Master's Degree in Bioethics is one of the fundamental tasks within the activities organised by the Chair of Bioethics. It was started in the 1997-1998 academic year by Fr Javier Gafo SJ and is aimed at training professionals who wish to specialise in this discipline, either to form part of Health Care Ethics Committees in hospitals, both public and private, or to devote themselves to research and teaching in this field.
This is a joint Master's program in Bioethics with Ramón Llull University in two modalities: blended learning, coordinated by Comillas Pontifical University, and online, coordinated by the Borja Institute of Bioethics.
Students who hold a canonical Bachelor's Degree in Theology and complete the Master's Degree in Bioethics can apply for the recognition of 42 ECTS from the Master's Degree in Moral and Pastoral Theology, thus being able to obtain two degrees in two years.
The Master's Degree in Bioethics qualifies for access to the PhD program in Health, Welfare and Bioethics.

Admission Requirements
- Holding an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution belonging to another member state of the European Higher Education Area that entitles access to master's degree courses in that country. - Likewise, graduates from educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may also gain access without the need to have their degrees recognised, subject to verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they are recognised in the country issuing the degree for access to postgraduate studies. Access by this route does not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous degree held by the interested party, nor its recognition for purposes other than that of studying for the master's degree.
