The Dietetics major is the first step leading to the credential of Registered Dietitian Nutritionist by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The University of Delaware’s didactic program in Dietetics is currently granted accreditation status by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics. Students in this major can satisfy the professional practice requirement after the Bachelor of Science degree by completing an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics accredited dietetic internship. Career paths: Graduates from the Applied Nutrition major are eligible for employment in nutrition education programs, food services, and fitness or health promotion programs.
