Throughout this course, students will examine, in depth, the economic, social, environmental, and governmental factors that shape human’s understanding of Global Sustainable Development. Using a range of methods of enquiry from the social sciences, humanities, and sciences, several Big Problems such as food security, climate change, water scarcity, inequality, sustainable economic growth and international governance will be explored. The topics within this programme will also explore these and other challenges of sustainability from many different perspectives, understand their complexity and learn to use a variety of approaches to think creatively about how these problems might be overcome.
