Through this course, students can specialise in both pure mathematics and statistics. There is a wide choice of options offered within this course including Computing, Operational Research and all the other topics available to Mathematics students. The BSc and MMathStat are the same for the first two years of study. The differences are in the final years, with the MMathStat degree offering a supervised research project and the possibility to specialise in areas such as advanced statistics, biostatistics, computational statistics, actuarial and financial mathematics, and probability.
