Students with a degree obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

Direct admission

On the basis of the following degrees, or similar degrees, obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

  • Bachelor in de industriële wetenschappen (Diepenbeek)
  • Bachelor in de industriële wetenschappen (Brugge,  Geel,  Gent,  Leuven)
  • Bachelor in de ingenieurswetenschappen (Leuven)
  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Leuven)

After admissions procedure

Admission will be based on assessment of the undergraduate degree, with respect to evidence of the applicant’s acquired competences in primarily the following domains: quantitative methods, technology and sciences (60 ECTS of which at least 24 ECTS in quantitative methods (mathematics and statistics) and 18 ECTS in technology and sciences) and ICT (including programming) (6 ECTS). Applicants need to prove their competences in these fields by following the instructions in this document.

Students with a degree obtained at an institution outside the Flemish Community:

Diploma requirements

Equivalence with the Flemish degree will be based on assessment of the undergraduate degree, with respect to evidence of the applicant’s acquired competences in primarily the following domains: quantitative methods, technology and sciences (60 ECTS of which at least 24 ECTS in quantitative methods (mathematics and statistics) and 18 ECTS in technology and sciences) and ICT (including programming) (6 ECTS). Applicants need to prove their competences in these fields by following the instructions in this document.

Language requirements

An exemption from the proof of English proficiency by means of the above-mentioned tests is possible for applicants with a secondary education degree or a higher education degree earned in Australia, English speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the USA: the degree and transcripts suffice, provided they confirm that the entire study was completed in English.

Students who completed their studies in a satellite campus which is located in another country than the main campus of the university are not eligible for an exemption from the English language proficiency certificate.
