Students with a degree obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

On the basis of the following degrees, or similar degrees, obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community:

· Bachelor in de revalidatiewetenschappen en de kinesitherapie ( Brugge, Leuven )

Language requirements Dutch: Level 1 before starting the clinical internship (more details, see heading “Students with a degree not obtained at an institution of the Flemish Community”).

However, students with the Flemish degree Bachelor in de revalidatiewetenschappen en de kinesitherapie are strongly advised not to enroll in this programme, but in the equivalent Dutch programme Master in de revalidatiewetenschappen en de kinesitherapie, which is specifically focused on the Belgian workfield.

Students with a degree obtained at an institution outside the Flemish Community:

Diploma requirements

Students with a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy will first have to complete a preparatory programme. To be admitted to the Master of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy students need to pass at least 4 of the 6 courses of the preparatory programme. This means that maximally 2 courses of the preparatory programme can be retaken during the master’s program. To obtain the master's degree, however, students must successfully complete all the courses of the preparatory programme.

Language requirements

English: For students who hold a prior degree awarded by an English-speaking university from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the USA, the certified diploma and transcripts suffice, provided they confirm that the entire university study was completed in English. Absolutely no other diplomas will be accepted as evidence even if the applicant has followed an exclusively English-taught programme.

Dutch: All non-Flemish students must have a basic knowledge of Dutch (Dutch Level 1 - CEFR level A2.) before starting the clinical internships of the Master Rehab. A Dutch introductory course (level 1) is included in the Preparatory Programme. However, for the specialisations Mental Health Care and Children, a minimum of level 2 is required, while level 4 is highly recommended due to the need for effective verbal communication and linguistic skills, especially as many patients in these areas may not be proficient in English. For more information, please contact FaBeR Helpdesk.

Additional requirements

All applicants must submit an official document stating the total amount of clinical practice hours (physiotherapy-specific) completed during their previous studies. Additionally, applicants must assign the correct subject category to each of the courses they have taken up in their previous study programme.
