The Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology Engineering trains graduates in the areas of production, research and development of biotechnological products in industries related to Biotechnology, acquiring skills in the management, development and implementation of technologies of biological systems, living organisms and their derivatives based on basic sciences and engineering, with ethical and social commitment, to create, improve or modify products and processes with biotechnological methods that solve problems of daily life in a sustainable manner.


The competencies acquired in the Bachelor’s Degree in Biotechnology Engineering are:

  • Applies the current regulations for the handling of living organisms and derivatives for quality control, safety and biosafety.
  • Designs biotechnological products taking into account the fundamental variables that govern the processes.
  • Uses information from recent specialized sources appropriate to his project.
  • Applies the scientific method in the development of biotechnological products and processes.
  • Solves problems using a multidisciplinary approach in the different areas of biotechnology.
  • Solves problems in a sustainable way.
  • Uses living organisms or their parts for the development of products and the improvement of processes of industrial, social, environmental or clinical interest.
