Founded in 2002 under the motto of 'SAFE KOREA', the Department of Fire Protection and Engineering aims to cultivate fire officers with theoretical and practical abilities as well as innovative professionals who can contribute to the advancement of the fire protection industry. It is the specialized department of Samcheok Campus that has been selected as the part of Gangwon-do's Regional Strategic Industry Promotion University Support Project, and is training experts in the disaster prevention industry. Through cooperation agreements with a variety of domestic and overseas universities, research institutes, businesses and so on, the department strives to help students find jobs and make career choices by helping them build practical abilities.
