The Department of Japanese Studies was established on March of 1998 as the first department in a flagship university to teach Japanese. It aims to cultivate experts who can comprehensively understand and determine the past, present, and future of Japan. Overall and multifaceted education and researches are carried out under the system of professors and native-speaking professors who possess professional knowledge in Japanese language, culture, history, thoughts, politics, economy, and language education.
